11. Pingwiny i foki || Penguins and seals

Po wyjściu z pawilonu niedźwiedzi polarnych po lewej stronie trafiamy na foki i pingwiny.

After leaving the polar bears' pavilion, on the left side we get to the seals and penguins.

Anika chętnie ogląda pingwiny - były to pierwsze zwierzęta, jakie zobaczyła w czasie swojej pierwszej w życiu wizyty w wiedeńskim zoo, ale ostatnim razem długo siedziałyśmy przed przeszkloną ścianą basenu fok.

Anika enjoys watching the penguins - they were the very first animals she got to see during her first visit to the Vienna zoo. But during our latest visits we spent quite some time at the glass wall of the seals' pool.

Kiepskie zdjęcie, ale świetny pomysł - z boku zagrody fok znajduje się salka z przeszkloną podłogą. pod którą widać basen fok. Póki co Anika nie była przekonana co do jej stabilności, ale to tylko kwestia czasu. Oczami wyobraźni już widzę, jak leży na tafli na brzuszku, wyciąga rączkę do fok i woła "Komm, komm", jak to ma w zwyczaju.

Crappy picture, but great idea - on the side of the seals' compound there's a small room with glass floor, under which you can see the seals' pool. So far Anika hasn't been to sure of the floor's safety, but it's just a question of time. In my mind's eyes I already can see her lying there flat on her belly, reaching with her hand towards the seals and calling "Komm, komm" as she lately does.

Jeśli komuś chce się obejść wybieg fok, to mijając wybieg pingwinów, trafi do pawilonu, w którym można obserwować te kochające zimno nieloty. Szczególnie atrakcyjne są oczywiście przeszklone baseny (nie udało mi się zrobić nieporuszonego zdjęcia, a fotografując zwierzęta nigdy nie korzystam z lampy błyskowej), ale również... głośniki. Pingwiny to bardzo rozmowne ptaki i wydają szereg bardzo zabawnych i niesamowicie głośnych dźwięków.

If somebody wants to go around the seals' compound, than after passing the penguins' compound, we get to a pavilion, where we can observe those cold-loving birds. Especially attractive are obviously the glass pools (I haven't managed to get a not blurry pic, 'cause I never use a flash when photographing animals), but also... loudspeakers. Penguins are very talkative and their calls are pretty funny and very loud.

12. Affenhaus: Pawilon małp i surykatek || The monkey and meerkat pavilion

Następnie obowiązkowy przystanek przy wybiegu surykatek - to jedne z najukochańszych zwierzątek Aniki i chyba większości dzieci. 

The next obligatory stop is at the meerkats' compound - these are one of Anika's favorite animals, and all kids, I guess. 

Niedawno zewnętrzny wybieg został odnowiony i urocze zwierzątka tak samo chętnie przebywają w piaszczystej, jak i w zielonej, zarośniętej jego części.

Recently the outer compound has been renovated and the lovely animals enjoy the sandy part as much as the grassy one.

Wewnętrzny wybieg surykatek znajduje się w pawilonie małp. To budynek również stosunkowo niedawno odrestaurowany. Ja osobiście za nim nie przepadam, ale Anika bardzo chętnie przygląda się małpkom przez wielkie szyby.

The inside meerkat compound is in the Affenhaus: the monkey house. The building has been recently renovated. I personally don't particularly like it, but Anika likes watching the monkeys through the huge windows.

13. Ibisy || Northern bald ibis (waldrapp)

Mijamy słonie i trafiamy na bardzo mały plac zabaw ku czci ibisów - Anice bardzo się tam podoba. Choć same ptaki w wolierze nieopodal dopiero teraz wzbudziły jej zainteresowanie, to drewniany ibis na placyku zabaw został nawet kilkakrotnie przytulony.

Once out of the monkey compound we pass the elephants and come to a very small playground all about Northern bald ibises - Anika loves it. Although the birds living in a cage close-by had not really interested her until not long ago, the wooden ibis has been hugged many times already.

Woliera ibisów jest warta odwiedzenia, bo ptaki latają w niej nieoddzielone niczym od odwiedzających i ona sama jest naprawdę "nastrojowa".

The ibises' cage is worth visiting, because the birds can move around it freely and the deco itself is very "atmospheric".

14. Gibbony i lemury katta || Gibbons and ring-tailed lemurs

Po wyjściu z woliery ibisów warto obejść mały stawik, na wysepce bowiem często bawią się gibbony, a po drugiej stronie znajduje się wybieg przezabawnych lemurów katta, które również chętnie wypuszczają się na spacery na rzeczoną wysepkę.

After leaving the ibises' compound, we recommend taking a walk around a small pond, because the island on it is a playground for gibbons, and on the other side live ring-tailed lemurs, who also often take a walk on this island.

15. Lodziarnia || Ice-cream parlor

Na koniec przystanek nie-zwierzęcy i znajdujący się już poza terenem samego zoo: lodziarnia. Myślicie, że żartuję? 

The last stop is of non-animal nature and is situated outside the zoo itself: ice-cream parlor. You think it's a joke? 

malina / raspberry                                  truskawka / strawberry

Po pierwsze, dzieci kochają lody, a te są pyszne i zrobione z organicznych składników (prawie wszystkie smaki owocowe są wegańskie!). A po drugie, i może ważniejsze, jeśli Wasza pociecha nie zasnęła po całym dniu w zoo, stanowią idealny "wywabiacz". Na wspomnienie o lodach Anika startuje sprintem do wyjścia i nawet nie zauważa, że przebiega po drodze przez sklep z pamiątkami, wypchany po dach pluszowymi zwierzakami!

First of all, children love ice-cream, and those are delish and made of organic ingredients (almost all fruit tastes are vegan!). And second of all, and maybe more importantly, if your kind has not fallen asleep after a day at the zoo, the ice-cream serve as a perfect "bait". When Anika hears of the ice-cream, she sprints to the exit and does not even notice that she ran through a souvenir shop full of animal toys.
